Learn the Facts About Common Core

My little boy will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. It’s truly amazing to me that he is already old enough to begin school! There are so many things to consider when sending your child to school, and if you’re like me, you’ve been hearing a lot about Common Core.

It can be difficult to know where to go to understand Common Core and how it will affect your child. That’s why I’m so pleased to be sharing a wonderfully helpful website called Be A Learning Hero.

It’s important to remember how important that support at home really is in the overall education picture. Parents play a huge role, and the more you know, the better prepared you can be to help your child meet his or her academic goals.

I want to acknowledge that there are a lot of mixed messages out there about Common Core. I would highly recommend that you speak with your child’s teacher to gain a personalized perspective.

Change is hard and takes time. Adjusting to new standards, new tests, new homework, etc. is a process.

Help is available. Find out what these changes mean for you and your child. There are free resources available at that can help you understand what the Common Core and new assessments are, how they will impact your child, and what you as a parent can do to help support your child’s learning at each grade level.

Be sure to check out the main website, Facebook and Pinterest pages for more information.
